Mandy: you can see the boats are all lined up as the academy sports and outdoors bass nation championship gets underway on Thursday the tournament will be held at green pond landing.
And the reason this is a big deal is that the top-three finishers will earn the paid entry into the 2018 Geico Bassmaster classic happening here in March.
This is creating a significant economic impact in this area with anglers from all over the world coming to Anderson.
Glenn brill with Anderson county’s parks, recreation an tourism expects $525,000 to be spent here during the tournament that goes through Saturday.
we’ll have 59 boats, and those ships represent 47 states and nine foreign countries.

We’ve got two teams here from Africa, one from Australia and several from Europe to fish in this tournament.
Mandy: brill says in the 34 months green pond landing has been open, it’s had a $30 million economic impact in this communitas for this tournament, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday anglers will be taking off at 7:30 in the morning.
Weigh-in starts at 3:45 all three days at green pond land and the event is free to all who’d like to watch.
